Race across a wasteland, wreck convoys and throw mutants around with superpowers in a shooter that never slows down.
Is RAGE 2 worth it?
RAGE 2 is worth it if…
- you want a first-person shooter where the combat, not the story, is the main event
- you like flinging enemies around with superpowers instead of just pulling triggers
- you enjoy clearing bandit camps at your own pace in a big open world
- you would rather drive a monster truck through a firefight than walk

Gunplay that carries the whole game
The shooting is why you play RAGE 2, and it is a highlight. Guns hit hard and respond instantly, and on top of them sit Nanotrite powers: slam down on enemies from a height, yank a whole squad into one spot with a gravity well, or shield up and push forward. Stack a power with a shotgun and a fight turns into a dance of explosions and flying mutants.
Then there is Overdrive. When the meter fills, your guns run past their mechanical limits and every weapon gets its own boosted mode. You drop a bandit camp in two minutes flat and feel close to unstoppable for the length of it.
The combat is.
A wasteland built for driving and demolition
An asteroid wiped out most of humanity, and what grew back is a big, varied map: jungles, swamps, sun-scorched desert, all of it surprisingly colorful for the end of the world, with neon lights and hot pink smoke instead of the usual grey ruins. Gangs and mutants hold chunks of it, and clearing their bases is the main loop.
Between fights you drive. If you see a vehicle, you can take it, from monster trucks to a gyrocopter, and chasing down enemy convoys pays loot you can put into upgrades. Be warned: the world between points of interest is mostly empty desert, and the driving is serviceable rather than thrilling. Treat the map as a shooting gallery with a long driveway and it works.
