Dig, return, dig deeper

The loop is simple and it works. You tunnel down through colorful pixel-art strata, filling your bag with ores, gold and treasure chests. When the bag gets heavy, your drill slows down, so you head back to the surface, drop off the loot, and go down again with better gear. There are no enemies and no time limits, so the only thing rushing you is how much your bag can hold. Later you unlock a warp straight to the surface, which turns a long climb home into one button. Every 100 meters a hard boundary block marks the next tier of stone, and the ores change with the depth, so each stretch of ground feels like a new step.

Smithing drills like a puzzle

Drills are not bought, they are built. You find blueprints underground, each one a grid, and fit ores into it like puzzle pieces: every ore has its own fixed shape you can flip, and the fuller you fill the blueprint, the stronger the drill. The ores you use also decide which special effects the drill can roll, from movement speed to explosions to a wider sight area. Getting the exact build you want takes some luck, and rerolling the effects costs coins and items, so chasing a perfect drill is a long game. That chase is the heart of it: the moment a blueprint fills up completely and a drill comes out with a full set of effects is the best part of the loop.

Builds that break the ground

Every drill can carry a stack of special effects, and combining them is where the game opens up. Go all in on explosions and whole clusters of blocks vanish at once. Stack movement speed and bag upgrades to haul more loot per trip. Build for critical hits to punch through the toughest stone. You can equip several drills at once, so a bomber drill that opens the way and a high-crit drill that finishes hard blocks can work as a pair. Effects chain into each other, and when the combo lines up, screens of blocks burst and loot flies into your bag. After floor 999, extra stages and new gear like totems and accessories keep the build-crafting going.
