Cultivation that runs itself, mostly
The core loop is simple: send your fighters out to a plane, let them grind spirit energy, and check in when you feel like it. There is no timer chasing you and no punishment for stepping away, which makes it a natural fit for a second monitor during work or study. When you do look in, there are decisions waiting: which plane to farm, where to place fighters in the front or back row, which equipment to hand out. Characters level up through familiar cultivation stages, and pushing through a world-level breakthrough is the moment the whole squad gets stronger. You can also grow spirit herbs, brew pills and hunt bosses that only appear at set times, so a quick visit always has something to do.
Can you play it without constant attention?
Do you need to actively play, or does it run in the background?
It is built to run while you do something else. The game keeps grinding while it sits there, and you drop in to hand out loot, rearrange a row or push a breakthrough when you feel like it. Sessions can be as short as a glance or as long as a build-planning evening; the game does not mind either way.
What do the characters look like?
They are procedurally generated, with different races, potential rolls and stats, so no two recruits are quite the same. The game leans into it: there is always another roll with slightly better potential, and the writing treats the whole roster with a straight face and a wink. You recruit, create and dismiss characters freely as your squad evolves.
Is there much strategy beyond leaving it running?
Yes. Fighters have roles like tank, healer, damage and control, plus single-target or area attacks, and the five elements counter and boost each other, so a squad that covers its weaknesses clears far faster than five random picks. Equipment rolls random stat lines too, so deciding what to keep, craft or sell is a real part of the game.
