Is 墨仙箓 worth it?
墨仙箓 is worth it if…
- you like idlers that run in the background while you work or chat
- you enjoy gear with randomized rolls, refining, enhancing and trading
- you want a sect to build with friends, or a tournament split by realm
- you do not mind text and menus over flashy graphics
- you are happy leaving the game running rather than playing in short offline bursts

Cultivation that runs while you get on with your day
Pick a spot on the map, click once, and your character sets off adventuring on their own. Each trip takes a few minutes, and along the way random events can pop up: a stroke of fortune that shifts your path, a task, a fight. Cultivation itself is a long climb through ten great realms, from Body Tempering all the way to Hunyuan, with attribute points to spend on physical or spell attack each step of the way. Combat is turn-based, built on your attributes and skills, simple to start and with real choices underneath. One honest note: your character only gains cultivation while the game is running, so it is a background companion rather than a fully offline one.
A world you share with other Daoists
This is a multiplayer world first and foremost. You can chat while your character grinds, team up to take on the world boss that appears at set times, and trade gear and materials with other players on the market. Sects let you create or join a group, build it up together and fight in sect wars. If you would rather compete, there is PvP and a martial tournament, and the tournament splits players by realm, so a newcomer is not thrown against veterans. The chat has a reputation for being friendly: ask a basic question and someone usually answers. It is a low-pressure place to idle alongside other people, half game, half clubhouse.
What should you know before starting?
Can you play it solo?
More than you might expect. The in-game guide is thin, but the chat culture is helpful and veterans tend to answer newcomer questions readily. Competitive modes separate players by realm, so you are not matched against someone a year into their cultivation, and gear aimed at lower realms sells cheap on the market because high-realm players no longer need it.
Does it progress offline?
Not by default. Cultivation only accumulates while the game is open and connected. There is an item that grants offline gains, but it is uncommon, so treat this as a game that lives in a background window rather than one you close and return to. If that does not suit your setup, it will chafe.
