Is Active Matter worth it?
Active Matter is worth it if…
- you like extraction raids where every extra minute raises the stakes
- you like realistic weapons mixed with gravity glitches and strange creatures
- you like solo runs or small-squad co-op in PvE and PvPvE
- you like base building and working toward better gear between fights

Get in, grab loot, get out alive
You choose your loadout and head into a raid solo or in a small squad, in PvE or PvPvE. The job is simple on paper: harvest active matter, fill your pack with loot, and reach extraction before the whole zone ceases to exist. In practice you are always doing the maths — push one building further for a richer cache, or keep what you have and leave while your legs still work. Death sends you back to the same point in the loop, which makes greed hurt in a very specific way.
Real guns in an unreal place
Your arsenal stays rooted in real-world military technology, even when everything around it stops behaving. Active matter pulls objects in from other timelines and lets you replicate items back at your syndicate base, so you can rebuild and tune your kit between raids. Weapons and gear follow familiar military tactics, which helps when the zone does not. A rusted Soviet factory is still a factory: check corners, manage distance, count magazines.
Anomalies, monsters and bad decisions
Active matter bends gravity and space right in front of you, changing how a fight or a loot run plays out. Eerie objects wait in odd corners, and creatures changed by exposure attack on sight, including survivors who lost their minds and humanity. You might replicate a needed item in safety, then meet something in the zone that makes you wish you had brought a bigger magazine. Other operatives remain the most dangerous enemy, especially when everyone wants the same source.
Syndicates, bases and strange maps
Between raids you expand your syndicate base and upgrade your arsenal, then join battles between syndicates over steady sources of active matter — your only chance to break the loop. Maps sit outside normal space and time, from a large island with rusty Soviet industrial complexes to cryptic labs that first studied the phenomenon. Explore them for loot and for hints about where active matter came from. Control the source and you shape what happens next.
What else should you know?
How does a raid actually work?
You enter a quantum-unstable zone with a chosen loadout, alone or in a small squad. You harvest active matter, gather loot, deal with anomalies, creatures and rival operatives, then extract to safety before the zone disappears with everything inside it.
What makes the zones dangerous besides other players?
Active matter warps gravity and space, spawns physics-breaking anomalies, and twists creatures and people into hostile forms. Eerie objects add a horror edge, so even a cleared room can turn strange fast.
What do you do between raids?
You return to your syndicate base, replicate items pulled from other timelines, upgrade weapons and gear, and prepare for the next run. Syndicates also fight over lasting sources of active matter, which ties your progress to control of the substance.
What kind of places will you fight in?
Locations outside space and time, including a huge island with Soviet industrial ruins and science labs that first studied active matter. Expect varied maps with room to explore, loot, and piece together hints about its origin.
