Hide as anything with a shape
As a witch, you can mimic any physical object on the map. A stack of books, a wedge of cheese, a frying pan: pick your disguise and slot yourself into a shelf, a market stall or a kitchen corner where it almost makes sense. Movement is physics-based, so you can hop, roll and slide into that one spot that looks perfect until a hunter walks in.
Get found? That is not the end. Spells let you fly off, disorientate the hunter or distract them away from your hiding spot while you make your escape. The last minute of a round, when a disguised witch bolts across an open square, is where the shouting starts.
Hunting the furniture
Hunters get an assortment of tools and abilities to detect, trap or slow down witches, and to cross the map quickly. Mix and match your loadout, then walk into a village full of barrels, chickens and casserole dishes and decide which of them is breathing.
The comedy writes itself. Whack a suspicious wardrobe and it either squeaks and flees (jackpot) or you just demolished an innocent bookcase in front of everyone. Projectiles are physics-based and fly in unpredictable arcs, so even a direct hit on a fleeing cheese wheel is never guaranteed. It rewards a good eye, and it forgives a wild arm.
Four ways to play, and your own maps
Hide and Seek is the classic round: witches survive the timer, hunters find them. Mobification turns caught witches into hunters, so the net keeps tightening. Hunt a Hag strips out all skills for a pure game of tag. Fill a Pot is the competitive one: two witches per team race to fill cauldrons with specific props before time or lives run out.
Beyond the 15+ official maps, a built-in editor lets you build maps and prop arrangements together with friends in real time, no external software needed. Upload yours to the workshop, or download the countless maps other players have made.
Can you play with just a few friends?
Can you play with just a few friends?
Yes. You can open a private server and play only with your own group, and the game has custom settings for things like hiding time, seek time, hunter count and mode, so you can tune the rules to fit four players as easily as eight. Player-made workshop maps include smaller ones that work well with a small group, and house rules like hiding only outdoors or only inside buildings are easy to agree on.
Is there anything to unlock or collect?
Plenty. Witches and hunters can be dressed up with hundreds of items: shirts, wacky brooms and costumes with different rarities. You earn rewards simply by playing and levelling up, or you can use the crafting system to forge a specific item, ingredient or rarity you are after. Leveling also unlocks exclusive items and player icons.
Do you need a big group for it to be fun?
Not necessarily, but it helps. The game shines most with friends, where the jokes and betrayals land hardest, and public matches can feel lively one evening and slow to fill the next. If you plan to play mostly solo against strangers, expect the experience to vary from session to session.
