Is VAIL worth it?
VAIL is worth it if…
- you want a VR shooter where aiming and reloading are real hand movements
- you enjoy competitive PvP and the grind of getting measurably better against real opponents
- you like short, fast sessions that leave room for one more match
- you would happily trade a golf club for a rifle and back again in the same evening

Gunplay you do with your hands
VAIL is a VR shooter first, and the shooting is the part people agree on: the guns feel precise and refined, with no jank in the mechanics. You physically work each weapon. You line up a scope with your own eye, pull a magazine out with one hand and slot a fresh one in with the other, and rack the slide when the fight gives you a second to breathe. Finger tracking means your trigger finger does exactly what your finger does. In a firefight, that physicality matters: a sloppy reload is your mistake, and a clean one is yours too. If you have ever wanted a shooter where skill lives in your arms and not in a thumbstick, this is the draw.
Four ways to play it
The game splits into distinct parts, and you pick your pace. Extraction sends you down into the depths of Reyn to pull out encrypted data, technology and resources while autonomous drones guard it like archangels. The Social Hub is the odd one out: challenge someone to a 1v1, try for the best mini-golf score, or grab a pickaxe and extract ORE shards from the quarry to unlock rewards, including access to VAIL Combat itself.
