Is Forefront worth it?
Forefront is worth it if…
- you want a proper large-scale shooter in VR, with classes, vehicles and big maps
- you like fast matches where reflexes and teamwork decide who wins
- you enjoy adapting mid-fight: switch class, grab a tank, blow a new route through a wall
- you want to grind out unlocks for your soldier and each class over many sessions

Thirty-two players, one battlefield
This is large-scale VR combat: 32 players in a match, expansive maps, and cross-play so you meet opponents from every platform. You fight for a global energy corporation or the resistance trying to stop it, and the outcome comes down to teamwork and skill, not luck. The pace is fast and frantic: you push an objective, get pushed back, regroup and push again. When a plan falls apart with half the lobby shooting at it, that is half the fun. Matches are short enough that one more round is always tempting, and no two play out the same way.
Vehicles and destruction
You do not have to stay on foot. Pilot helicopters, drive tanks, or storm an objective in a humvee, a quad or a boat, on land, at sea and in the air. The maps are semi-destructible too: blast through a wall to make a new path, or bring a building down on the cover the enemy was hiding behind. Deciding whether to hold a doorway or delete the doorway entirely is a real choice, and it changes how every fight in that building goes. Between the vehicles and the collapsing walls, matches get messy in the best way.
What should you know before playing?
Is it beginner friendly?
Mostly, yes. You pick from four classes (Assault, Engineer, Medic, Sniper), each with its own weapons and gadgets, and you unlock more as you level up your soldier and your class. Be aware that time-to-kill is very fast, so new players can feel outgunned at first until their aim and positioning catch up. Expect a learning curve, not a gentle one.
Can you play with friends on other headsets?
Yes. Forefront has cross-play across platforms, so a friend on another VR system can join the same match. You fight together in the same 32-player battles, share vehicles and coordinate objectives like anyone else on your team.
How chaotic does it get?
Very, and that is by design. Between helicopters overhead, tanks rolling in, walls being blown open and voice chat full of shouting, a match rarely stays tidy. If you like games where the plan falls apart and you improvise your way to the objective anyway, this is that kind of game. If you prefer slow, careful and quiet, it will feel like too much.
