Is Rogue Lords worth it?
Rogue Lords is worth it if…
- you want to play the villain for once, and a stylish, cheeky one at that
- you enjoy turn-based fights where the real move is bending the rules mid-battle
- you like building a team around synergies and trying new Disciple combinations
- you can stomach a steep difficulty curve that punishes careless runs
- you don't mind slower runs with plenty of walking between encounters

Cheat like the Devil
Most roguelikes make you live with the dice. Rogue Lords lets you pay to change them.
The best part: you can do it at any moment, including during the enemy's turn. A fight that looks lost one second can be rewritten the next. The catch is honest: every cheat costs essence, and when that runs dry, the run ends. Cheating is power, but it is also your life.
A team of famous evil geniuses
You pick three Disciples from a cast of legends: Dracula, the Headless Horseman, Bloody Mary, the White Lady, Lilith, Hecate, Baron Samedi, and Frankenstein and his Creature. Each one plays differently, with their own abilities, story and quirks, and the fun comes from combining them. Skills interact, statuses stack, and a well-matched trio can chain turns into something nasty for the mortals in your way.
Between fights, your Disciples live a little. Send one of them off to handle an evil task on their own and their personal attributes decide how it goes. Succeed and they pick up traits that sharpen their damage, health or social skills. Watching these legends bicker and boast among themselves is half the charm.
Spreading terror across a changed world
You lost, decades ago. The Demon Hunters won, and in your absence a new religion, the Sanctua Lumen, has grown powerful enough to hunt everyone who serves you. Each run is a campaign through chapters to reclaim legendary artefacts and take your revenge.
Winning fights and shaping events fills a terror gauge, and every few steps of terror the rewards get richer. Events are where you decide the world's fate: handle each one your way to weaken the Sanctua Lumen's grip, give mortals fresh reasons to fear you, and choose what happens to traitors who sided with your enemies. Souls you collect buy new skills, upgrades and relics that carry into the fight ahead.
