Slot cursed relics, weigh each bonus against its drawback, and face seven Lords in turn-based tactical runs that never play out the same way twice.
Is Deified worth it?
Deified is worth it if…
- you like turn-based tactics where positioning matters more than resource management
- you enjoy roguelite runs built around relics, synergies and hard trade-offs
- you want a dark, story-soaked world with morally complicated villains
- you don't mind long runs and a tough early game before the unlocks kick in

Relics that fight back
Each one grants a unique bonus, but it also carries a drawback that reshapes how you play. A relic that heals you when you walk over blood sounds generous until you notice what that asks of you. You assemble identical fragments to restore artifacts, stack relics of the same type to trigger synergies, and choose your slots carefully, because a bad fit can undo a good plan.
Combat with no throttle
Battles are tactical and turn-based, and there is no resource meter holding you back: no mana, no action points, no cooldowns. You are powerful every single turn, so the fight becomes a pure question of positioning and order of operations. Which enemy dies first, where you stand, what you trigger in what sequence. The combat has a chess-like quality to it, and the sound and visual effects land hard when a plan comes together. Bosses carry unique curses that turn your plans upside down, forcing you to adapt the build you spent the whole run assembling.
Is this game for you?
How hard is it at the start?
Tough. The early hours are demanding, and you will likely lose runs before your first unlocks make a difference. Once a few upgrades are in place, the game opens up and the tactical depth starts to show. Come in expecting to earn your first real victory.
Can you play it in short sessions?
Not really. A single run is a long one, often a couple of hours, and the fights take their time. It suits an evening set aside for one proper attempt more than a quick break between other things.
How does progression between runs work?
You earn a currency called obols and spend it on permanent upgrades, and skill trees plus new rooms expand your options over time. One honest caveat: the cost of those upgrades climbs steeply, so late progression slows down and asks for patience.
What makes the builds different from each other?
Relics come in types, and collecting several of the same kind triggers synergies, while each slot's bonus and drawback pushes your playstyle in a different direction. Restoring artifacts with fragments unlocks new abilities on top, so two runs can end up playing nothing alike.
