Summoning and building your roster
You start with the Arbiter calling you to stop the Dark Lord Siroth, then the real work begins: collecting Champions. There are more than 800, from Dark Elves and Ogryn warlords to Lizardmen, dragons and demons, each with its own backstory and skills.
You crack open shards to summon someone new, slot them into a team and level them up. Looted gear and masteries let you tune millions of builds, from heavy hitters to support Champions who keep everyone alive.
Turn-based fights with room to plan
Fights play out in turn-based, isometric 3D, where order, skills and team mix matter. You unleash attacks and support abilities, time buffs and debuffs, and adjust your lineup for what stands across from you.
It suits careful tinkering. You swap one Champion, change a mastery, re-kit the gear you looted, then run the fight again to see if the plan holds. Clan Bosses and Hydra Clash reward that kind of steady preparation with exclusive gear and shards.
A campaign and dungeons to work through
The story-driven campaign follows the fight against the forces of Darkness, told with full voice acting and cinematic cutscenes. You tear through its stages, then move on to harder PvE: 13 dungeon bosses, Faction Wars and the Doom Tower.
Each mode pays out in loot for the next one. Regular events and updates keep adding Champions and challenges to that loop.
Arenas and clans for competitive days
When your teams are ready, you test them against other players. Classic Arena is head-to-head for gear and leaderboard places, and Live Arena runs those duels in real time. There are three PvP modes in all.
Clans give you company for the grind. You join forces for Clan Bosses, share the rewards, and once you are strong enough, take on four rival clans in Hydra Clash.
Good to know?
What am I actually doing minute to minute?
Summoning Champions, forming teams, kitting them with looted gear and masteries, then sending them into turn-based fights across the campaign, dungeons, Doom Tower, Faction Wars, arenas and Clan Bosses.
How big is the roster?
Over 800 Champions from 16 factions, including Dark Elves, Ogryn warlords and Lizardmen, plus dragons, demons and figures from myth. Each has its own skills and backstory to learn.
Is there much outside combat?
Yes. You manage builds, chase loot, join a clan for shared bosses, follow Telerian lore through Champion stories, and can watch the animated series RAID: Call of the Arbiter on YouTube.
How long does it last?
It is built as an ongoing game rather than one you finish. Between the campaign, 13 dungeon bosses, Doom Tower, Faction Wars, three PvP modes and constant updates, there is always another team to build and boss to try.
