Catch them, tame them, become them
Monsters here are not just targets. Weaken one, capture it, and it fights at your side, gaining experience and evolving while keeping its own traits. Find it a partner and it can even have children, with the parents' characteristics passed down. The stranger trick is transformation: captured monsters can be sealed so you can turn into almost any of them. A monster that digs through the ground lets you dig through the ground. One that flies lets you fly. You spot a creature with an ability you want, and the hunt becomes the plan.
Spells you write yourself
Magic is not a list you pick from, it is something you build. In a live editor you shape each spell: the arc and pattern of a fireball, how it moves, what it does. Fire burns enemies and the environment, ice freezes and pierces through crowds, electric spells are fast, stone knocks monsters back or petrifies them, light heals, shadow follows enemies and passes through them. Elements can be combined in one spell, and monsters have weaknesses to exploit. Finished something clever? Spells are shared between friends as simple copy-paste text.
Loot, runes and classes
Weapons and armor come in seven levels of rarity, and higher rarity brings stronger, more unusual effects. Runes enchant your equipment with extra stats, and gear levels up as you kill monsters or feed it magical crystals, so a favorite set never gets left behind. Monsters have rarity too, and the rare ones hit harder with abilities their common cousins lack. Full armor sets unlock their own skills and abilities: the miner set plays differently from the shadow hunter set. If a roll disappoints, currencies let you chase the exact traits you want.
Dig, farm, cook, get stronger
The survival loop is here and it feeds everything else. You start with bare hands, gather wood, stone and ore, and craft better tools, weapons and clothing. Farming and cooking matter more than a full belly: eating a type of food for the first time permanently raises your character's abilities, so a varied diet is a build strategy. Alchemy takes it further, extracting essences from any plant, flower, vegetable or monster part and combining them into potions for life, regeneration, haste, resistance and more. There are no mandatory tutorials or forced main quests: explore in any order you can survive, with a completion tree if you want guidance.
A village worth defending
You rescue the native Chloridians from the Night Walkers, then build and fortify villages for them. Befriend the locals and hand out jobs: cooks, guards, wizards, researchers and more, each one making your settlement work. From there it gets industrial. Windmills and, yes, chickens on wheels generate mechanical energy, transmitted through cogs and belts to mills, crushers, saws and conveyor pipes. Circular saws on tracks can cut trees for you. Pressure plates and mechanized doors keep things moving. A village you wired yourself runs like a little machine, because it is one.
