From bare hands to a base worth defending
You start with no food, no clothes, nothing. First comes wood and stone, then tools, then a shelter with walls you actually chose. From there the planet opens up: reclaim wasteland into farmland, plant crops, raise livestock, and manage a farm that can grow into something genuinely impressive. Resources are plentiful once you know where to look, and the pixel art keeps the whole thing bright and readable while you dig, build and expand. There is a mystery here too: a robot tells you a story about your origin, and unraveling it gives the survival loop a reason beyond the next meal.
Gene editing and builds that are actually yours
The standout system here is genetic modification. Instead of only stacking armor, you harvest alien DNA and edit your own genes to reshape your stats, unlocking perks and passive abilities that change how a fight plays out. Combined with hundreds of possible weapon combinations and a skill system, character creation goes well past picking a class. The materials for genes come from things you do anyway, like farming, chopping and fighting, so a good build comes together without a grind. Get the combination right and combat turns into a satisfying mow-through of alien factions.
Ride your enemies into the dungeon
Almost any creature you meet can be captured, trained and, in many cases, ridden. Tame a beast, saddle up, and enter a dungeon on it instead of on foot. Pets and battle mounts give every run a personal flavor: one player's unicorn, another's armored nightmare. There are also replicants, combat followers you can shape to your taste. Between taming, breeding and building your fighting companion, the creature side of Keplerth is a real draw, and it makes the underground expeditions feel like yours rather than the game's.
The survival crafting loop, kept friendly
For anyone in the mood for open-world survival crafting, Keplerth hits the familiar beats without brutal punishment. Hunger and hostile creatures keep you gathering and cooking, but upkeep matters without ever feeling cruel, and the grind stays light. Progression is a clear ladder: stone tools and a first hut, then metal, then technology, with a boss capping each stage and unlocking the next dungeon layer. The maps and dungeons are randomly generated, so each run starts somewhere new. It is a more casual take on the genre that still asks for real planning by the end.
A planet is better with friends on it
Online multiplayer lets you survive side by side, and joining a friend's world is straightforward. Explore dungeons together, split the farm work, or argue about wall placement, which is half the fun of any shared base. Characters carry over between solo and online play, so an experienced player can bring gear and materials to help a friend through the rough early hours. One thing to know: mounts and pets stay on the map where they were caught, so you will tame fresh ones on a friend's world. Fighting a big boss as a group beats fighting it alone.
