Combat built on dashes and stolen powers
The fighting is fast and fluid: light attacks, heavy attacks, a charge attack and a dash that cancels almost anything, so a combo can turn into an escape or a new opening in a heartbeat. The twist is the Godbreak itself. Wear an enemy down, execute it, and its power becomes yours, one use at a time. Chain those stolen abilities into a Godbreak attack and the screen turns into a proper spectacle. Landing a hit feels weighty, and when you do take damage, it usually feels like your own mistake rather than the game's.
Bosses with phases and personalities
Every biome ends with a boss that has its own mechanics, its own personality and multi-phase encounters that test your reflexes. These fights are the peak of the game's chaos: wide attacks, shifting patterns and moments where coordination matters more than raw damage. One concrete beat: beat a boss before your health runs out and the fight rewards you with a full heal, which turns every late phase into a decision between playing safe and pushing for the kill. Come prepared, and in co-op, bring backup.
Six biomes that never sit still
You fight through six surreal biomes, each with its own flavour, its own enemies and its own deadly hazards. Layouts shift between runs and encounters are unpredictable, so the route you learned last time will not carry you through this one. The look is bright and cartoony, with vivid colours and clear readability: even in the middle of a brawl, you can see what is happening. Each run takes you through a different slice of these worlds, and every one of them wants a slightly different approach.
Chaos is better with three friends
This is a game made for pick-up sessions: join a lobby with up to four players, drop in, and coordinate abilities while the fights get gloriously messy. Builds amplify each other, so a team where everyone's strengths complement the others hits far harder than four solo players in one room. You can also play entirely solo to sharpen your skills, but the structured chaos of co-op, taking down a multi-phase boss together while abilities fly everywhere, is where the game is at its most fun. Sessions are short, so one more run is always an easy sell.
What should you know before starting?
How does progression work between runs?
Runs are short and repeatable, but nothing you earn is thrown away. You unlock Archetypes, each with its own weapon, traits and abilities, plus permanent upgrades for characters and powers. On top of that, every run can be customized with modifiers that remix how the gameplay behaves, and RECOLLECTIONS offer bite-sized replayable challenges if you want a focused test. Leaderboards let you compete for the top spot as the best Godbreaker.
What is the story about?
An AI called the Monad erased humanity in its pursuit of perfection and now devours planets, with the Sun next in line. You play as the final weapon of the Coven, fighting through strange worlds to reignite the last spark of mankind. The story sets the stage, but the game is built around its combat loop and runs, so expect the plot to stay in the background while you break gods and steal their powers.
