SHODAN is watching
The station's AI has seized Citadel Station, rebuilt its crew into cyborgs and mutants, and set a mining laser aimed at Earth. You are the hacker sent to stop her, alone, with a military implant as your one advantage. SHODAN remains one of gaming's great villains, and the remake brings back her original voice actor: that contemptuous, sing-song menace is intact. Her presence hangs over every deck. You hear her through logs and intercoms, feel her watching through the cameras, and the station slowly reveals itself as her body. Stopping her means crawling through it, deck by deck, while she taunts you for trying.
No markers, no mercy
Nobody tells you where to go. No waypoints, no objective list, no yellow paint. You find audio logs from the dead crew, read their messages, dig through data and piece together what happened and what you are supposed to do next. Codes and passwords are scattered through the station, and many are randomized per playthrough, so a notepad genuinely helps. The map is a real tool: you can drop pins and label them yourself, which matters on ten sprawling floors you will backtrack through often. That is the trade-off, and it is a real one: you will get lost, and the corridors of Citadel do not always help you tell one deck from another. The reward is a station that feels like a place, not a checklist.
