Loopbound

A narrative incremental game about being stuck in a time loop. Gather resources, survive decay, level up skills and automate the chores, then die and start again with everything you unlocked. Each cycle carries you further into strange worlds and closer to why you are looping at all.

Is Loopbound worth it?

Loopbound is worth it if…

  • you like incrementals that actually tell a story between the numbers
  • you enjoy planning a run, automating it, and watching your plan pay off
  • you want a game that runs in the background while you check in now and then
  • you liked Increlution or Terraformental and want a fresh take on the formula
  • you prefer a calm pace over twitch reflexes and timers

Die, keep the upgrades, go again

The loop is the engine. A cycle ends, you respawn, and the permanent upgrades and automation you unlocked come with you, so the next run starts further ahead. What took an hour last time takes minutes now, and the time you get back goes into planning the next push. Skills level up as you use them, speeding up actions and opening options that were closed before. There is no punishing failure here: dying is just how the next chapter begins. One honest note: early cycles move slowly, and it takes a few loops before the pace picks up and the plan starts coming together.

Worlds with their own rules

Each world you travel to plays by its own logic. One is a maze you map a little more every run, another a swamp where poison eats at you, a desert where dryness is the enemy. Hunger, poison and decay press on your condition, so managing food and resources matters as much as pushing forward. You choose which world to enter and in what order, and stats earned in one world boost your growth in the others. The story arrives the same way: through the places you visit, the events you trigger and the choices you make, one fragment of the mystery per loop.

Can you play it without babysitting it?

Can you play it without babysitting it?

Yes, and the game is built for it. Once you have repeated a task a few times, you can automate it, and the loop keeps progressing while you plan your next move or do something else entirely. Later runs go faster thanks to permanent levels, mastery and automation, so a good chunk of playtime happens with the game tabbed out, checked in on every so often. The active part is deciding what to unlock, what to automate and where to go next.

Do you lose everything when a loop ends?

No. The cycle resets, but your permanent upgrades, unlocked automation and progress carry over, so every run starts from a stronger position. Even failed cycles move you closer to the answers, which is the whole point of the loop. The one wrinkle: each world has its own stats to build up, so arriving somewhere new means starting that world's growth from the beginning.

How much game is there right now?

Loopbound is in Early Access, still growing with frequent updates shaped by community feedback. The current content runs to roughly 30 hours of progress, and the branching paths and different routes give it replay value beyond a single playthrough. If you would rather wait for a fuller, more stable version, that is a fair call; if you enjoy watching a game take shape, there is already plenty to sink into.

What is the story actually about?

You are a traveller trapped in a time loop, and each cycle brings you a little closer to understanding why you exist in it. The narrative is not told in long cutscenes: it is built from the state of each world, the events you run into and the choices you make along the way. Expect fragments rather than answers at first. The mystery unfolds slowly, which suits a game you keep returning to.
