Hunting by radar and radio
Half the war happens on the map, before a single shot is fired. Your ships carry sensors, and the enemy carries sensors too, so every move is a question: fly dark and stay hidden, or light up the radar and find them first. You match signals on the map with a ruler, cross-reference bearings, and decrypt hostile radio calls to piece together where the strike groups are. The crew chatter and radio traffic make the cockpit feel real, and when a contact is announced, the quiet is over. Finding an enemy convoy with clever triangulation, then deciding whether to ambush it or slip away, is a highlight of the game.
Ship duels with real weight
When fleets meet, the battle drops into real-time arcade combat: thousand-ton ships flying, boosting and trading salvos over the desert. These are not fragile fighters. Ships have mass, cannons punch, missiles streak in and fires spread while you steer, dodge and aim for weak spots like the enemy bridge. You are usually outnumbered, so tanking hits rarely works; speed, positioning and picking your moments do. What you built and what you spent before the battle matters here: a lean, well-designed ship fights very differently from a bloated one. Winning a duel you entered outgunned feels genuinely earned.
