$3.99异常 | Exception
You write the battle plan, then watch it play out. In 异常 | Exception you program small robots with simple command blocks, press run, and let them fight on their own across 30 levels. Easy to start with no coding background, tricky to master, and fun to debug until the plan finally holds.
Is 异常 | Exception worth it?
异常 | Exception is worth it if…
- you like puzzle games where you plan first and watch the result
- you are curious about programming logic but do not want to type code
- you enjoy retrying a level until an ambush or formation clicks
- you want short single-player challenges plus player-made levels

Program the squad, then hands off
You pick a unit, snap together command blocks, and send it out. Once the fight starts you cannot step in, so a scout with wide vision, a long-range sniper, or a tough brawler with area attacks only does what you told it to do.
That is where the fun sits. You watch your four robots roll toward waypoints, check distances and enemies in sight, set an ambush or split roles, then restart and fix the one block that sent everything sideways. Victory comes from failed runs.
A system error with a story
You are operator 159, keeping a steady virtual world running under an all-powerful system. Then one program throws an exception, and stranger still, it makes a request.
The 30 official levels teach the tools a few blocks at a time, then add movement options, distance checks, and new unit jobs. The pixel-art maps stay clean and cold, with neon cyber touches, and player-made levels keep new puzzles coming after the main set.
What should you know before playing?
Do you need to know how to code?
No. Commands are picked from a panel rather than typed, and the early levels teach movement, conditions, and roles in plain steps. Patience helps more than experience, since later levels ask for careful coordination between different unit types.
What happens if your program is wrong?
The units follow it anyway, right into trouble. You restart the level, change the blocks, and run it again. Mid-game levels are built around this loop, and details like waypoint choice or a missed condition often decide the fight.
How do the different robots change a level?
Each type has a job: tough units hold ground and hit nearby enemies, scouts see far and pass along information, long-range units harass from safety. Many levels ask you to divide work, such as one robot clearing the middle while another draws fire so a weaker one can finish the target.
Can you keep playing after the 30 levels?
Yes, through levels made by other players. The command set stays simple, with conditions but no loops, so custom maps tend to test clever positioning and timing rather than complex code.
