Is Dead Effect worth it?
Dead Effect is worth it if…

- you want a short campaign plus survival-style side modes
- you like dark spaceship corridors and simple zombie blasting

A colony ship gone wrong
You are an elite Unit 13 soldier woken months into the voyage, with the destination nowhere in sight and the corridors full of bodies and things that used to be people. You push through 12 story missions with more rooms open than the mobile original, piecing together what happened from logs and radio chatter while something aggressive lunges from a doorway. It is a short, straight run: find the next room, clear it, keep moving.
Guns, slow motion and gore
You start with a stunner and a pistol and work up to shotguns, machine guns and a crossbow with explosive bolts, spending credits to upgrade the ones you like. Zombies come slow until they do not, with sprinters, crawlers, spitters and grenade-throwers who explode when they die. You drop a trip-mine in a corridor, toss a grenade into the pack, then hit Bullet Time to line up headshots or use Devastation to clear the room. The dismemberment does most of the talking.
What else should you know?
How long is the campaign?
Around five hours across 12 missions, with extra missions in Survive and Biohazard modes if you want to keep shooting after the story ends.
How do you get better gear?
You collect credits on missions and spend them on weapons and equipment upgrades. One full run rarely pays for everything, so you pick two or three guns and make them nasty.
