A campaign built for playing together
The co-op campaign takes up to four players through the same missions as the single player story, and having squadmates changes how it plays. Someone watches a flank while another clears a room. Someone else throws the grenade, pin pulled first. Stay in the open too long and you go down, so you duck behind cover, crouch, peek around corners and call out what you see while your friends move up. Missions run around ten to fifteen minutes a first pass, which makes it easy to jump into a lobby, run a level or two and still have time left in the evening. The story gives you a reason to fight: a future where clean water is worth killing for, and a cult called the Tlalokii whose motto is "join us or perish".
Guns that work like guns
Every weapon is modeled on its real-life counterpart, and each one has its own reloading method you have to learn with actual hand movements: pulling the mag, racking the slide, working the bolt. It takes practice, and when the muscle memory clicks, it clicks hard. There are more than 40 firearms plus melee weapons, over 50 attachments and 100+ unlockable skins, and you can swap attachments on the fly to find the setup that suits you. Want precision? A laser sight on an assault rifle in semi-auto, or a sniper rifle. Want to make bad decisions loudly? Dual-wield machine guns on full auto and accept that recoil is going to make your life difficult.
Your body is the controller
This is a shooter where moving well matters as much as aiming well. Grenades work the way they should, pin out before the throw. The gunplay is responsive, and hitting things takes real skill, since you aim through actual sights and scopes instead of a magic crosshair. Hipfiring works too, especially with a laser sight, but the shots that feel best are the ones you line up yourself.
PvP, zombies and mods
Beyond the campaign there are cross-play PvP modes, a zombies mode, and native mod support through mod.io, where you can download community-made single player, co-op and PvP maps or build your own in Unreal Engine. Progression runs through ranks: complete missions, earn XP and money, unlock new weapons and attachments, and rise through the ranks. You get solid weapon options within a few hours and a wide selection after about ten, and you can save loadouts between matches. Character customization rounds it out; nobody sees your outfit but you, so make your corpse the best dressed one on the field.
Questions before you play?
Can you play it solo?
Yes. The campaign works as a full single player experience, and it is a real reason some people buy the game: a story-driven military shooter you can play alone without ever touching a lobby. You fight alongside AI soldiers through the missions, level up, unlock the arsenal and play at your own pace. Co-op is there when you want it, not a requirement.
How long is the campaign?
Short. Missions take roughly ten to fifteen minutes each on a first run, and the story content runs out after several hours, so much of the game is replaying missions while you grind ranks and unlock weapons. If you want dozens of hours of fresh story missions, this is not that; if you want a sandbox to master gunplay in with friends, it holds up.
How good are the enemies?
The AI is the game's soft spot. Enemies can be deadly at range on higher difficulties, but they also make odd choices, spawn in awkward places and generally behave less cleverly than the gun handling suggests. Friendly AI sometimes walks in front of your line of fire. The shooting itself is excellent; the opponents are the part that shows the game's age.
