Surfing on foot across a sunken city
The best reason to play is the movement. Sigrid glides straight across open water, dashes, jumps, and swings herself between housetops with her net. You cross calm stretches, push through surging waves, and chain jumps to reach the next island in Strandville's decaying archipelago. It stays simple throughout, which keeps the pace relaxed and the travel itself pleasant. Collect sparks, flip switches, and take on time trials when you want a little speed.
A small town story with monsters underneath
Strandville is full of fed-up fishermen, secretive hermits, and maybe a pirate or two. You meet a cocky surfer girl, an old fisherman turned fashion designer, and other islanders who hand out fetch quests and small favors. Under that everyday business sits an older story about loss, reconciliation, and an old nemesis tied to the black gloom covering the water. You fill Sigrid's scrapbook with drawings that explain more of her world, and change her look with collectible hats, hair dyes, and outfits.
What else should you know?
How long is it?
Short. It is a linear, single-player story that moves zone by zone, with side quests, collectibles, and time trials around the main path. Good for a few relaxed sessions rather than a long adventure.
What do you collect besides story progress?
Sparks scattered around the islands, plus hats, hair dyes, and outfits to change Sigrid's appearance. Special drawings go into her scrapbook and add background on Strandville and its people.
Is the combat hard?
No. Fighting the gloom creatures is straightforward ground-stomps and net swings, and clearing them lets you help trapped islanders. Come for the surfing, the islands, and the story more than the fights.
