Free to playTrimps Breed an army, automate it all
Trap creatures, grow them into a self-running fighting force and push ever deeper into a strange planet, one idle session at a time.
Is Trimps worth it?
Trimps is worth it if…
- you want an idle game with real depth, not just numbers ticking up
- you like playing in the background and checking in every few hours
- you enjoy optimizing builds and doing a bit of math on the side
- you have tried other idle games and found them too shallow to stick

From one trapped Trimp to an empire
You start with nothing: a hostile planet, no memory, and one small creature caught in a trap. Send it to battle, breed more Trimps, house them, put them to work, and gear them up with better equipment.
Progress hits a wall eventually, and that is where the Portal comes in: reset your run, spend what you earned on permanent perks and talents, and come back stronger. Each loop goes further than the last, and over 50 Challenges twist the rules of the universe along the way. The writing is sharper than it has any right to be, with dark humor woven into the whole thing.
Automate the old, unlock the new
Trimps is built around one idea: unlock new stuff, then automate the old stuff so you never have to think about it again. Early on you play actively, learning the mechanics and managing your resources by hand. Over time the game hands you automation with detailed customization levels, and your attention shifts to bigger management problems.
That loop is why it holds up. The game keeps throwing new mechanics and wrinkles at you, from mini games to a pet to level up, and eventually a second universe to explore. Some things you automate once and forget forever; others you tweak now and then.
Can you play it without spending money?
How much waiting is involved?
A fair amount, and that is by design. Early on you play actively, but as automation kicks in the game becomes something you check every few hours, and longer runs benefit from being left alone overnight. It works well as a background game you dip into between other things. If you prefer constant active play, the early zones will suit you better than the later ones.
Do you lose progress when you close the game?
No. Trimps tracks what you earned while away and hands it over when you return, so stepping back for a day or a month costs you nothing. Your Trimps will be waiting, exactly as many as you left behind.
