- you like pixel art that does serious, heavy storytelling
- you enjoy piecing together a plot that starts confusing and comes together at the end

Three characters, one story
Three people, three ways to play, one story that only makes sense when they meet. The knight cuts through the creatures of a deteriorating castle with his scythe, the only one of the three who fights back. A young girl climbs through an eerie house, dragging boxes and chairs into place to reach the next room, careful not to be found. The wanderer picks through the ruins with a hookshot and pickaxe, opening paths and piecing together what happened. Their chapters seem disconnected at first.
A world that feels like weather
This is a game built on mood. The palette leans into blues and blacks, rain and wind run through the soundtrack, and the piano and strings sit somewhere between sorrow and anger. Light does a lot of the talking: pure white against deep, opaque dark. The pixel art is small in scale but expressive, and it carries feelings that would need dialogue in any other game. Voice acting appears sparingly and lands where it counts. Nothing here is cheerful, and that is the point. It is a bleak, beautiful place you move through slowly, and the emptiness is part of the design.
What should you know before playing?
How long is INMOST?
It is a complete, self-contained story rather than a long haul, and the ending rewards finishing it in one go. Some players find the story confusing until the final chapters, when everything clicks into place.
Is it scary?
It is dark and unsettling more than frightening. There is a lurking presence, deadly traps and tense moments where you avoid rather than fight, but the dread is psychological and the sadness hits harder than the scares. If you want pure horror, this is quieter than that.
Is the gameplay difficult?
Not very. The platforming and puzzles are straightforward, and dying sends you back a short way without much stress. The knight's combat is light and punchy, the girl's sections are slow and deliberate. This is a game you play for the story and the atmosphere, not a challenge.
Can you play it solo?
Yes, it is a singleplayer story with no multiplayer of any kind. It is fully playable in 14 languages, including English, French, German, Russian, Japanese and Korean, and it works well with a controller.
