Cities for loot, country for quiet
You decide where to risk your skin. Cities hold scavenged gear and supplies, with zeek hordes often around the next corner. The country offers a slower living through hunting, fishing, farming, foraging, and picking through ruins.
Either way, hunger, exposure, and shifting weather keep score. Exploration runs from wilderness to dense towns, with infected wildlife, hostile survivors, survivor camps for aid and trade, and bandit bases you can take over. Keep moving, and the road points toward the island and what caused all this.
Zeeks come in flavors, none of them good
The outbreak made zeeks the apex predator, and they are not all slow shamblers. Different variants force you to adapt, improvise, and sometimes run. Standing still gets you eaten.
Fighting covers melee, firearms, and crafted weapons tuned with attachments and modifications for threats or for hunting game. The camera sits overhead in isometric view, so you see streets, treelines, and incoming trouble in a wide frame. Check one more house and you will learn what that view missed.
Build a base that bites back
Scavenged resources turn into gear, consumables, weapons, and even vehicles through an extensive crafting system. Then comes the home part: raise a safe house, reclaim a burned-out house, and fortify it with concrete barricades and electrified fences.
Vehicles matter here. Drive to cross dangerous ground, haul supplies, and carry companions, then upgrade them with armor, weapons, and storage for harder trips. It is the difference between a supply run and a long walk back with nothing.
Survive alone, together, or with a dog
Play solo, cooperatively, or online in PvE and PvP with dedicated servers and proximity voice chat. Game settings let you shape the session, including a permadeath mode for the brave and the forgetful.
Your survivor starts with your choices of profession, afflictions, and skills from a skill tree, plus weapons and gear that change how you last.
Hungry? Cold? Now what?
How do I survive the first days?
Pick a lane. Work cities for scavenged food, tools, bottles, and gear, or head for the hills to hunt, fish, forage, and farm. Watch hunger and exposure, mind the weather, and keep a vehicle in mind early, since hauling supplies and reaching survivor camps beats walking into trouble on foot.
What is there to do besides loot houses?
Plenty, if you like chores with teeth. Farm and fish to eat, craft gear and weapon mods, upgrade vehicles, fortify a safe house, trade at survivor camps, clear bandit bases, and follow the pull toward the island and the outbreak truth. Character professions, afflictions, and skills shape how each run plays.
Can I play it my way with friends?
Yes. Solo, co-op, and online PvE and PvP are all supported, with dedicated servers, proximity voice chat, and wide session settings. Bring friends for backup, bring a dog or horse for quieter loyalty, or go alone and keep every can of beans for yourself.
