A murder mystery you finish yourself
You move through dark rooms and woods with a flashlight, checking objects and reading notes, letters, and your own second-guessing. At certain points the game asks what you did: did you pick up the gun, did you take that item, what do you remember. There is no correct answer, only the version you build. The surroundings shift quietly to match it, so two runs can leave you with different suspects, different motives, and different endings. It takes about an hour per run, which makes arguing with yourself again oddly reasonable.
Creepy without chasing you
This is walking, looking, and reading, not combat or chases, and there is no way to die. The pixel rooms stay dark, the sound stays spare, and the unease comes from bloodstains, remains, and questions nobody answers. It is more unsettling than frightening, with dread rather than jump scares. Play it in one sitting, late, with the lights low, and let the house do the talking. The mystery stays open, so bring your own conclusions. They are the only ones on offer.
What else should you know?
How long does one playthrough take?
About an hour if you read everything, less once you know the rooms. It is built for a single sitting, and for going back to make different choices and find another ending.
Is it actually scary?
Only mildly. Expect a dark house, a storm, and an unpleasant discovery, not monsters hunting you. The tension comes from not knowing whose memory to trust.
How do your choices work?
You explore side-scrolling rooms, examine objects, and answer yes-or-no questions about what you found or did. Those answers and the things you picked up shape the narration and which ending you get.
