Social stealth before it was a genre
Codename 47 is built around blending in rather than hiding. You study a level, find the right uniform, and walk past guards who look straight at you. In one Hong Kong mission, the police chief negotiates with a gang in a small restaurant: you can slip in through the toilet window after getting the key from the owner, take a seat, and wait for the talk to begin. Or intercept the gangster first, wear his clothes to the meeting, and let the blame fall on his own people. Every contract has several routes in, and figuring out which one fits is the real game.
Planning, payment and the right tool
Each assignment starts before you set foot in it. You read the briefing and surveillance data, weigh the paths, and spend your fee at the black market on weapons, ammo, armour, decoys and traps. A quiet job pays better than a loud one, so the sniper rifle you never fire can be the smartest purchase you make. The contract world rewards a quick intellect over a quick trigger finger, and the game means it: shooting your way through tends to cost you money, attention and often the mission itself. When a plan comes together and you walk out the back unseen, the thrill is hard to match.
