A retro VR shooter where you fight floor by floor up a corporate tower, ducking real bullets and reloading real guns with your hands. Every run rearranges the building, the enemies and the arsenal. It is hard, it is fair, and it always leaves you wanting one more go.
Is COMPOUND worth it?
COMPOUND is worth it if…
- you are comfortable in VR and want a full shooter, not a wave shooter
- you like fast runs where dying is your own fault and the fix is skill, not luck
- you miss the look and sound of late-80s shooters and want them in room-scale
- you enjoy mastering reloads and movement until the gunfight feels effortless
- you want a game that fits a quick blast or a long, tense climb

Climb the tower, floor by floor
You are a freedom fighter working your way up a skyscraper owned by The Corporation, and what belongs to everyone is waiting at the top. Each floor is a fresh layout: rooms, enemies and weapon spawns shuffle every run, so no two climbs look the same. The floors get harder and more crowded the higher you go, and there are three endings depending on how far you push. A map helps you spot the corners you missed and the pickups still lying around. Reach the heart of the building and take it back, or die trying, which happens a lot at first.
Gunplay built for your hands
The shooting is the heart of it. Sixteen weapons, each with its own reload and its own feel, from plain pistols to rocket launchers and a sonic gun that throws enemy fire back where it came from. Every one of them is viable for a run, and the game keeps the ammo coming for whatever you carry. Simple to learn, and the better your hands get, the faster you deal punishment.
Dodge, duck and survive
Every bullet can be dodged. Every enemy has a pattern and a proper counter, from human troopers to flying drones, all visually distinct and all behaving differently. The danger is opening one door too many and alerting half the floor at once. When you go down, and you will, it is usually clear exactly what you did wrong, which is what makes the next run so tempting. There is an easy mode, a practice area for the enemy that keeps killing you, and a pinned guide for new players. You do not get better because the game changes. You get better.
