A town to bring back to life
Your first mission for the Guildean Kingdom sounds simple: find out why the mine has gone quiet. What you find is worse. The townspeople are gone, taken by creatures rising from below, and it falls on you, a brand-new knight, to get them back.
Rescued townsfolk return to the surface and rebuild the hub around you, opening shops and handing out quests. The story stays the same for everyone, but one detail is nicely personal: the researcher's notes you follow through the ruins, and the tribe whose wall paintings hint at what summoned these monsters. A knight-in-training who is actually taken seriously makes a refreshing change.
A map built just for you
Every room in Chasm was drawn by hand, then the game stitches them into a world map that exists only for your save. Six large areas come out of this: ancient catacombs, castles and stranger places below the mountain, each with its own look.
The layout changes how you play. Chest contents and which townspeople you find shift from map to map, and one early loot drop can change how you handle certain enemies entirely. New abilities, six in all, from a double jump to climbing gear, open routes that were walled off before, so you keep circling back to old areas with new keys in hand. When you finish, a fresh map is a genuinely different place to explore.
