$4.99Chaser
You wake on the H.M.S. Majestic with no memory and armed men already looking for you. Chaser is an old-school sci-fi shooter about finding out who you are, from Montack City to Siberia to Mars, with realistic guns, slow-motion firefights, and a plot that keeps twisting.
Is Chaser worth it?
Chaser is worth it if…
- you like old-school shooters that are long and difficult
- you like amnesia stories with twists and a trip to Mars
- you like varied missions with stealth, sniping, and underwater sections
- you like realistic weapons and slow-motion gunfights

A man with no past, hunted across Earth and Mars
You start with a blank name and a ship full of trouble. Men in black uniforms want Chaser dead, and he cannot tell you why, because he does not know himself.
The search takes you from the H.M.S. Majestic to Montack City on Earth, then to Siberia, and finally to Mars, where MARSCORP director Samuel Longwood has built himself a very profitable private empire. The story is full of turns about identity and mining rights, and the ending lands darker than you expect. Corporate paperwork has rarely caused this many gunfights.
Realistic guns, slow motion, and a change of pace
Nearly every weapon is modeled on a real equivalent, from knives and shotguns to submachine guns, rifles, and grenade launchers, with different ammo types to manage. Enemies hit hard and like to appear around corners, so the slow-motion mode earns its keep.
Missions keep changing the job. One level is stealth where you cannot be seen or fire a shot, another puts a sniper rifle in your hands, others send you underwater, onto a train, or through snowy Soviet bases and Martian prisons. Night vision helps when the last levels go very dark. The levels are large and easy to get lost in, so bring patience and a habit of checking every vent and side passage.
What else should you know?
Can you play it solo?
Yes. The hunt for Chaser's identity is a single-player campaign that moves from station corridors to cities, snowy bases, underwater sections, and Mars.
How hard is the shooting?
Sharp. Enemies react fast and a few hits can kill you on normal difficulty, but they go down quickly too when your aim is true.
Is there stealth?
One mission forbids being seen or shooting at all, so you read patrols and slip past instead of clearing rooms. It is a quiet break between the louder jobs.
Does multiplayer still work?
The box lists team modes, deathmatch, and capture the flag through GameSpy and dedicated servers. That service closed in 2014, so expect the campaign to be the reason to install it now.
