Three battlefields at once
Every fight shows three falling-arrow lanes: defense, mana, and spell. You flip between them with Q and E, taking hits if you miss defense arrows, banking mana when you hit that lane, then firing a crafted spell by nailing its pattern in the spell lane.
You watch all three at once and pick your moment, grabbing mana during a quiet stretch, then jumping back to block before the red notes land. Music by Ronald Jenkees and Michael Wade Hamilton keeps the pressure on, and full voice acting carries the 10+ hour climb.
A tower climb with jokes and crafting
You start in a safe room, pick which monster to fight, and work floor by floor up the Tower, collecting drops to synthesize gear and customize spells. Stronger equipment and tuned-up spells open the locked door to the next level.
Between fights there are deadly monsters, ridiculous characters, and a long mystery about why Ky was imprisoned. The tone is chatty and funny, with Naia needling Ky as she guides him upward. You fight, craft, unlock the door, and see what strange guardian waits above.
What else should you know?
How does casting spells actually work?
You craft a spell, charge it with mana gathered from the mana lane, then switch to the spell lane and hit its arrow pattern cleanly. Miss the pattern and the cast fails, so you recharge and try again while still keeping an eye on defense.
What do you do between battles?
You return to a safe room, synthesize items from monster drops, adjust equipment and spells, then craft the key that opens the way to the next Tower floor.
Who are Ky and Naia?
Ky is the prisoner climbing the Tower for his freedom, and Naia is the mysterious girl guiding him onward. Their back-and-forth carries the fully voice-acted story toward the scheme behind his imprisonment.
