Sketch your battle plan on real-world terrain and let hundreds of thousands of troops carry it out in real time.
Is Battleplan worth it?
Battleplan is worth it if…
- you'd rather draw one good plan than click a hundred orders
- you like the idea of commanding whole divisions, not single squads
- you enjoy learning a deep system by doing, and failing, and adjusting
- you want your battlefields to match the real map of Normandy and beyond

Draw the plan, let the army work
You plan like a general, not a squad leader. Draw an attack straight onto the map, schedule a preparatory bombardment, then split your division to take three villages at once. Defence in depth, counterattacks, planned withdrawals: the tactics are yours to sketch, and your officers and companies carry them out on their own. Your job is to get the plan right, because once the guns open up, the army runs with it. That means watching a well-drawn plan unfold is its own reward, and watching a bad one collapse teaches you exactly where you went wrong.
An army with a real chain of command
Every division is modeled from the top down: headquarters, regiments, battalions, companies. Infantry, tanks, engineers, anti-tank guns, artillery and scouts each do their own jobs without being told twice. You build the whole structure yourself: combine divisions into corps, split units down to companies, hire and fire officers, and requisition new units as the campaign goes on. Your officers offer advice, and you can take it or leave it. Keep them alive and they gain veterancy, along with a few quirks along the way.
