Better with friends along
The game supports online co-op, so you can team up and explore the continent of Saint Terius together instead of going it alone. Sessions stay simple: join up, pick your adventurers, and head out after phantom beasts or through secret realms as a group. It is a natural fit for a casual evening with friends, where the plan is less "strict coordination" and more "who found the rare beast, come look at this". Elemental combinations give you something to talk about too, since mixing compatible affinities between your beasts and your party changes what works in a fight. Bring a friend who likes collecting and one who likes tactics, and you have the whole loop covered.
The phantom beast system
This is the heart of the game. You capture elemental phantom beasts across the open world and forge soul contracts with them, and their power flows into your own bloodline as they fight alongside you. Beasts evolve and awaken, and pairing ones with compatible affinity is how you break past your limits. Fights lean on elemental interactions, so the team you assemble matters more than button speed. If a beast turns out to be a dead end, you can retract it without losing progress and cultivate a different partner boldly.
A story with a clock running backwards
The setup is a mystery worth chasing. Mysterious invaders razed Green Field Village in year 98 of the Saint Terius calendar, and years later a young man with the power of divine revelation finds a celestial book and returns home to learn the truth. Under the guidance of the wise Merlin, he awakens the Beast Master inheritance and starts taming the very kind of creatures that destroyed his home. The larger threat is the abyss: its agent Sien wants to steal the scattered power of the ancient gods and open a portal through spacetime, and the only hope is turning back time to before the abyss descended. The look stays bright and cartoony the whole way, which makes the dark parts land strangely well.
