$9.99Abnormality Ghost Hunting With Friends, Barely

Is Abnormality worth it?
Abnormality is worth it if…
- you want a scary co-op night where the plan falls apart and everyone panics together
- you like identifying a mystery from clues, then running from the answer
- you enjoy games where each round plays out differently and one more go is tempting
- you prefer chases where sprinting and fast decisions actually matter

The investigation comes first
Each round starts as detective work. You and up to three friends move through a haunted location with ghost-hunting tools, gathering evidence and piecing together which of 35 ghost types you are dealing with. Every type has its own behaviours, known traits and hidden traits, and they differ in speed, aggression and how long their hunts last. So the answer is never the same twice: the ghost that paced itself last round might come in fast and furious this one. Locations also hide story fragments that explain why the ghost exists and what happened before you arrived. Figure out the type, survive the hunt, and make it out alive.
When the hunt begins
Horror is the heart of the game, and it shows. Ghosts are active, intense and unpredictable, with jumpscares, screen shake and the distinct pleasure of being dragged away from your friends. Unlike slower games in the genre, you can actually sprint, so hunts become real chases where movement, awareness and quick decisions decide who walks out. When darkness closes in, night vision is your last resort. Audio has been a major focus, and it shows: the sounds alone keep you wondering whether something moved in the next room. Investigate by day. Survive the night.
Better with friends in the lobby
This is a game built for a group of up to four, and the fun is as much in the reactions as in the scares. One person spots the clue, someone else walks straight past it, and the plan falls apart the moment the ghost picks a target. The lobby is customizable too, so your base feels like yours before the first hunt even starts. A straightforward tutorial gets new players up to speed fast, which makes it an easy sell for a game night.
What else should you know?
Can you play it solo?
Yes, the investigation works alone, but the game is built around a team of up to four. With friends the horror turns into shared chaos, and there is always someone else for the ghost to drag across the map instead of you.
How scary is it, really?
Genuinely scary. The sound design carries a lot of that weight, and the game stays dark and unsettling even when nothing is happening.
