Dark funny roguelikes and platformers

These eight games from Edmund McMillen share a taste for strange characters, hard challenges and runs you can restart again and again. In The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth you guide a kid through shifting rooms and stack pickups that change each attempt, while Mewgenics lets you raise mutant cats and lead them into team fights that play in turns. If you prefer jumping, The End Is Nigh tests you with platforming where falling is part of learning. You get deck puzzles, police guessing and tar physics elsewhere, all tied by dark jokes and systems.
