Is Wielders of the Essence worth it?
Wielders of the Essence is worth it if…
- you like short, punchy runs that still add up to something bigger
- you want horde survival with troops to command, not just spells to spam
- you enjoy watching a base grow between fights
- you want a full campaign you can finish in about eight hours

Eight-minute runs, endless hordes
Each run drops you somewhere new in the world, where waves of enemies come at you and bosses wait at the end of it. You fight the bullet heaven way: cast spells, keep moving, and let the screen fill with loot. Shops sell gear, chests hold strange trinkets, and every run is a fresh set of enemies and challenges. The runs are short on purpose. Eight minutes is enough for one good attempt, and short enough that a bad one never stings for long.
A town that fights back
The loot you carry home goes into your town, and every building you put up unlocks something: a troop to command, a stronger spell, or a skill your Wielder didn't have before. It's the incremental loop that makes the action worth repeating. A run ends, the town grows, and the next run starts with more power behind it. The campaign keeps sending you back to upgrade, taking the town from puddle to paradise while your Wielder gets properly dangerous.
What happens after the campaign?
How long does it take to finish?
About eight hours to complete the campaign, built from runs that each last around eight minutes. That makes it easy to play in short sessions or to sit down and clear several towns' worth of progress in an evening.
Is there anything to do after beating it?
Yes. Finishing the game unlocks new game modes, and there are multiple difficulty settings to test your mettle on. Six Wielders with different playstyles also give you reasons to replay levels and bosses with a new kit each time.
Can you play it solo?
It's a singleplayer game through and through. You pick a Wielder, run the levels alone, and manage the town on your own schedule, with no reliance on teammates or matchmaking.
