Jarkeeper

A cozy first-person sorting game in a spooky old mansion on a stormy night. You sleepwalked out the front door, and all 3,120 specimen jars hit the floor. Carry armfuls, learn odd little spells from the bimbous and put every jar back on its shelf.

Put the house back together

Bats, brains, frogs, tongues, rubber ducks, the odd homunculus. The whole collection is on the floor, down the halls and piled in corners, and plenty more jars sit on the wrong shelves. Scoop them up by the armful, hear them slosh, and give each one back its spot.

The heart of the house

You were walking in your sleep, right up to the door. The house began to weep, and everything hit the floor.

You're the Jarkeeper. When you sleep, the house sleeps, and the night you wandered off it couldn't hold itself together. Every jar you file helps it heal.

Six bimbous live here with you. They adore you, they'll teach you their spells, and they won't stop calling you their little sleepwalker.

3,120 jars, one spot each

No two jars are the same: 26 specimens, 6 colors, 10 catalogue codes, bare or in bloom.

The specimen picks the shelf. A flower on the lid means the jar goes on the Bloom version of that shelf.

The color picks the row.

The catalogue code picks its spot along the row.

Take it a step at a time: a row, then a shelf, then the whole house.

A spell for every job

Kinstrike: Call down lightning outside the mansion, and every sibling of the jar in your hand glows through walls, shelves, anything.

Magnet: Matching jars come flying into your arms.

Panic: Misfiled jars glow red, shake and scream. Perfect for catching the culprits.

Swarm: Jars circle around you and file themselves when you get close to their shelf.

Poltergeist: The jars in your arms float off and find their own way home.

Collate: Your armful sorts itself into catalogue order.

Plus two passives: Frog Leap lets you double jump to the second floor, and Cashback makes your spells cool down faster every time you file correctly by hand.

How haunted?

Chill: Just you, the rain, the shelves and the bimbous.

Spooky: The house has bad nights. The power cuts out, earthquakes shake jars off the shelves, and noir episodes turn everything into a scratchy black-and-white film, gramophone music and all.

Nightmare: The lights never come back, the film never ends, and the quakes hit harder.

You can switch between Chill and Spooky whenever you like.
