Brawler combat with an RPG under it
The bones are classic beat 'em up: you face left or right, read the crowd, and keep a combo alive while enemies pile in. Underneath sits a proper action RPG. You build a gauge for focus and weapon attacks, swap between combat styles, and let every weapon change how a fight plays out. Gear comes with real choices, and crafting means you are not entirely at the mercy of what drops. It is easy to pick up, and the timing and creativity it rewards give it a longer tail than the first hour suggests. Later areas hit harder: enemies move faster, come in greater numbers, and punish sloppy play.
A bright world with dark corners
The look is bold and saturated: vivid colors, lively effects, maps with enough variety in them that the scenery does not blur together. The soundtrack sits well with the pace of the missions. The setting is where the tone turns: the world outside the Belfry is crumbling, the City of Numbers has fallen, and a corruption is threatening what is left of humanity. The story campaign carries that weight, with lore and characters to uncover as you explore at your own pace. You can take your Ace's journey offline and reconnect later without losing your place.
Better with friends beside you
This is a game built for a lobby and a shared plan. Team up with up to three other Aces and the fights change character: different combat styles complement each other, and coordinating who holds the crowd and who goes for the boss is where the fun lives. Going solo works too, with Umbra lending unique abilities to your side, but the chaos and the thrill both grow when you rally together. Sessions fit real life as well: a short run of missions makes for a satisfying half hour, and the fast pace keeps everyone in the fight rather than waiting around.
