A modern tycoon with campaign and sandbox
You build and manage theme parks in the spirit of the classic tycoon games, with new features on top. It is a modern successor to the Roller Coaster Tycoon games, and it is easy to pick up and learn.
You work through 26 scenarios, each with its own setting and a fun test of your management and coaster skills. When you want your own setup, the scenario editor lets you create scenarios, and sandbox mode leaves the shape of the park to you.
Terrain, rides and coaster design
You deform terrain and place water, then fill the land with rides. Over 70 well-known ride types are on offer, and designing roller coasters is a highlight. Coasters can be your own creations, or you can drop in a ready-made layout and move on to the rest of the park.
Blueprints are a useful shortcut for building attractions. Community mods and builds add a lot of extra content when you want more scenery, rides or ideas.
Decorating a large, charming park
Maps are very large, so an adventure park and a fantasy land can sit side by side. Decorative objects from different themes give you plenty of choice, down to small details such as single flower pots.
Decorating makes rides and the park look better. The art style is charming, with graphics that look modern while keeping a retro feel.
Running the business, solo or together
Building is half the work. Behind the rides, you balance the books, keep visitors content, deliver shop supplies along routes that stay out of their way, and tuck staff zones behind the scenes.
Campaign and sandbox can both be played solo or cooperatively online, and playing with friends is a major draw.
What else should you know?
What do you actually manage besides rides?
You keep an eye on the money in the bank and keep visitors happy, with shops stocked and supplies kept out of guests' way, plus service zones kept where guests cannot see them.
Can you play it with friends?
Campaign and sandbox can be played solo or cooperatively online, and playing with friends is a major draw. You argue over the next coaster or just decorate together at a relaxed pace.
Does it keep giving you things to do?
The 26-scenario campaign, sandbox play, scenario editor and community mods and builds give it a lot of replay value. Large maps and many decorative details mean each new park can look quite different.
