- you enjoy online racing, dedicated servers and comparing rider statistics
- you like painting gear and adding community tracks and bikes

A simulator that makes you earn every clean lap
MX Bikes simulates motorcycle dynamics, tyre behaviour, chassis flex and bike setup from the ground up, so throttle, lean and rider weight all matter. You shape ruts into soft ground as you ride, deal with wet dirt and wet weather, and learn to carry speed without washing out or swapping sideways. It is difficult on purpose, and staying upright for a full lap feels like progress. First or third person, with controller, VR and head-tracking support if you want it.
Online racing with stats to compare
There is no AI to race and no career mode, so the racing is you against other people. You can host and join races over LAN and online, including dedicated servers, while event data feeds rider statistics for comparison. Starts are tight, lines matter more each lap as the terrain deforms, and one mistake in traffic costs places. Come for tense, fast-paced battles where holding your line is a skill in itself.
Mods, paints and tracks built by riders
The base game is a platform to build on. Tools and documentation let advanced users create and add tracks, bikes, helmets, protections and more. You can also paint your bike, helmet, kit, boots and gloves to your taste. Mods are close to required to get the full choice of bikes and replicas of real-style tracks, so plan on spending some time finding the ones you like.
Details for the setup-minded
Setup work is part of the fun here. You adjust the bike to suit the track, pick lines through developing ruts, and choose rider gestures on the fly. An automotive industry-standard tyre model, dynamic terrain deformation and wet-terrain simulation give each change something to bite into. A plugins interface can also send realtime bike data to external programs, which suits players who like telemetry and tinkering.
What should you know before buying?
Is MX Bikes hard to learn?
Yes. The physics punish rough throttle, bad lean and sloppy lines, so expect plenty of crashes before laps start to flow. Stick with small setup changes and short practice runs, and a clean lap feels properly earned.
Does it have single-player races or a career?
No. There is neither AI nor a career mode. Single-player time is practice and setup work, while the actual racing happens against other riders online or over LAN.
How do mods and custom content work?
Tools and documentation are provided for advanced users to build tracks, bikes, helmets, protections and more.
What online and extra hardware features are supported?
You can host and join LAN and online races, with a dedicated server available and event statistics for rider comparison. It also supports native Oculus Rift and SteamVR headsets, plus FreeTrack and EDTracker, with first- and third-person views.
