Plant it or defuse it
The core of Forward Assault is the bomb. One team carries it to a site and has to make it explode, the other has to stop them, and every round comes down to holding the right corners, timing your pushes and deciding when to rotate. It is tactical in the old sense: teamwork and map awareness matter more than raw reflexes, though mastering the recoil of each gun takes real practice. When the round is close, it gets properly tense.
Quick modes and your own maps
Not every session needs to be a bomb scenario. Team Deathmatch gives you short, chaotic stretches of pure fighting, and Gun Game makes you work through a ladder of weapons, so a bad habit with one gun costs you the next kill. When you run out of maps to fight on, the level editor lets you build your own and play them with others, which is the kind of tool that keeps a shooter interesting long after the standard arenas feel familiar. Add character customization and weapon skins on top, and there is always something to work toward between matches.
