Is Darksiders™ worth it?
Darksiders™ is worth it if…
- you like heavy, violent action games with real dungeons and puzzles between the fights
- you enjoy a story of betrayal and revenge told with big, cinematic staging
- you have a soft spot for comic-book art and grim, ruined worlds
- you want a clear path from start to finish instead of a hundred-hour grind

A framed Horseman on a quest for the truth
The setup is a good one: War brings about the end of the world ahead of schedule, Heaven loses, Hell wins, and the Charred Council pins the whole disaster on him. Stripped of his powers and facing execution, he cuts a deal to go back down and find out who set him up.
So the story runs on a mystery. War fights through the remains of Earth, takes on angels and demons alike, and makes uneasy deals with the very demons he is hunting. The tone is grim and heavy, the cutscenes are staged big, and the plot keeps a question hanging over everything: who actually broke the law, and why?
Combat, dungeons and a fiery horse
The fighting is fast and heavy: War swings a massive sword through demon hordes, mixing brutal attacks with supernatural abilities, and the arsenal grows to include angelic, demonic and Earthly weapons. When the mood takes him, he can also ride Ruin, a fiery phantom steed, straight through whatever is in the way.
Between fights, the game slows down. Dungeons are handcrafted and packed with puzzles, keys and hidden paths, and new areas often need an ability you do not have yet, so exploring pays off later. Bosses are the highlight: huge, staged like set pieces, and each one asks something different of you. Upgrades, relics and new abilities keep War growing from start to finish.
