Chip Builder

ChipBuilder is a story driven puzzle game about digital logic. Start with a single transistor and work your way up through gates, registers, memory, and a full ALU, until you have wired together a working CPU with your own hands. Then run ChipCorp as its CEO, or build a computer from NAND gates.

ChipBuilder is a story driven puzzle game about digital logic. You play a junior engineer at ChipCorp, learning to build a working computer from the ground up, one gate at a time.

KEY FEATURES

Interactive Circuit Canvas

Drag components from the palette, wire outputs to inputs, and watch signals propagate live as you build.

Real Truth Table Verification

Every circuit is graded against the actual truth table it should satisfy. No shortcuts, no guessing.

Narrative Driven Lessons

YOUR JOURNEY

Chapter 0, Silicon & Switches: Start below the gates, with single transistors, and build your first logic from them.

Chapter 1, The Spark of Logic: Learn the fundamental building blocks, logic gates that process 0s and 1s.

Chapter 2, The Art of Combination: Combine gates into useful circuits, adders, multiplexers, and decoders.

Chapter 3, Memory Takes Hold: Discover circuits that remember, latches, flip-flops, and registers.

Chapter 4, The Storage Vault: Build memory systems, RAM, ROM, and address decoding.

Chapter 5, The Brain's Calculator: Build the ALU, the arithmetic and logic powerhouse of the CPU.

Chapter 6, Building the Brain: Assemble the complete CPU, program counter, control unit, and datapath.

Chapter 7, The Language of Machines: Cross the hardware software boundary, machine code, assembly, and algorithms.

Chapter 8, The Chip Architect: Master advanced concepts, pipelining, caching, ISA design, and build freely.

Chapter 9, From Sand to Silicon: Learn how chips are actually built and assembled in the fab.

Chapter 10, The AI Accelerator: Discover how dedicated chips meant to run and train artificial intelligence are developed.

Chapter 11, FAB CEO: Lead ChipCorp as its CEO for 35 years in a turn-based grand strategy game.

BUILD A COMPUTER

A second mode: start with one NAND gate and build one computer across 14 scored milestones. Design your CPU's own instruction set, write programs in assembly, debug them, and connect a keyboard, a console, a pixel screen, a timer, sound and a network port. In the last milestone, Snake runs on the computer you built.

12 chapters. 49 levels. 1 working CPU, built by you, one gate at a time.
