A garden that lives at the bottom of your screen
BuGarden is an idle garden that sits quietly in a corner of your desktop while you do everything else. You buy seeds, plant them, water and fertilise them, then get back to your day. The flowers grow slowly, earn coins as they develop, and sway gently while they wait. Your typing and mouse use build up energy for little treats, and your computer's activity can even trigger a rain shower that waters the plants for you. When a bug crawls across the screen, you can shoo it away, or turn the pests off entirely and let the garden sort itself out. It is a small, living thing on your monitor, and it asks very little.
A snail that works at a snail's pace
Every garden needs a helper, and yours is a snail. It waters your plants, collects coins and generally keeps things ticking over, all at a pace that would embarrass continental drift. You can customise its shell, and as your garden grows you unlock upgrades that make it more useful. If the snail is too leisurely for your taste, sprinklers and other automated tools pick up the slack, so a fully hands-off garden is entirely possible. Whether you enjoy nudging things along yourself or leaving it all to a very slow mollusc, the game supports both.
Unhurried by design
There are no timers, no fail states and no punishment for ignoring your garden. Flowers that run dry simply pause their growth and pick up again when watered, so a busy week costs you nothing. The hand-drawn art is soft and colorful, the music is gentle, and the whole thing is built to be glanced at rather than stared at. When you need to focus, one click hides everything and leaves only your favourite flowers keeping quiet company. It is a game designed to fit around your day, not the other way round.
Plant, water, harvest, repeat
The loop is simple and satisfying: buy seeds, plant them, keep them watered, harvest the blooms and sell them for coins. Coins buy better seeds, tools and decorations, and every flower you harvest brings new unlocks closer. Flowers can mutate into rarer varieties with different colours and shapes, and there are fertilisers that improve your odds or speed up growth. Five maps offer their own unique seeds and their own music, so there is always something new to plant. Collectors will find a proper collection to work through, one flower at a time.
