Fight the seven demon kings
You play as Sun Wukong, taking the demon kings down one by one in a side-scrolling adventure. It is fast, arcade-style brawling: you chain attacks, dodge, and whittle down bosses with big health bars. The levels are recreations of the classic Seven Demon Kings chapter, rebuilt with the art and technology of the newer sequel, so the fights feel quick and modern while the places stay familiar.
Loot, weapons and magic treasures
Defeated bosses drop equipment, and gear comes with random quality, extra stat rolls and socket counts, so two drops of the same item are rarely identical. From the third equipment set onward you can forge higher-quality gear directly instead of waiting on drops. Magic weapons form their own system: you gather materials from repeatable fights and refine them, choosing which stats to lock in and which to reroll. The Xuanhua Gourd returns too. One convenience worth knowing: enhancement levels are tied to the equipment slot, not the item, so a weapon you upgrade keeps its bonus when you swap in the next one.
A remake built on memory
This is the original team remaking their own work, fourteen years after the series began. Familiar characters, music and art come back: Wukong returning to Flower and Fruit Mountain as the old background music plays, the moonlight over the Rainbow Tower, the ripples of the Shichuan River. The look is bright and saturated, with a retro, cartoon feel that leans into its roots rather than hiding them. Story moments are staged with a cinematic hand, and the whole thing is aimed at people who played the original chapters in a browser after school.
