The whole campaign, side by side
You and a co-op friend can clear all of Irid Novo together, start to finish, without breaking up the run. One of you hosts, the other joins on the couch by pressing Start or calls in online, and you keep going through bosses, hidden passages, and the station orbiting its black hole. Loot is shared, and the local second player keeps their experience instead of playing a watered-down helper. That makes it easy to split jobs in a fight: one holds the shield and watches stamina, the other lines up a ranged shot or a weapon ability unlocked through fighting.
Tough fights that need a partner
This is a Souls-like, so combat is patient and punishing. You read enemy patterns, manage stamina, pick your moment with dozens of melee and ranged weapons, armor, shields, and special abilities. When the black hole shifts overhead, it can change enemy strength and positions, call in hordes, or bring out a boss. Having co-op friends beside you matters then. You drop back to heal while your partner keeps the pressure on, then trade places. Death still stings, but at least someone is there to see exactly how it happened.
A station built for poking around
Irid Novo is one large interconnected colony full of mysteries, hidden passages, and secrets inside secrets, open to explore in any order. You play a Spawn sent to investigate the Merge, the disaster that left interdimensional creatures serving the Cosmic Gods. Two heads help here. One of you spots the side corridor, the other remembers the locked door three rooms back. Weapons grow stronger the more you use them, and upgrade chips can move between gear, so you can both try new builds without starting over.
How does co-op actually work?
Can you play the full game in co-op?
Yes. The entire game can be completed uninterrupted in co-op, either split-screen or online. Couch play starts when the second player presses Start, and online play works by calling for assistance.
Do both players keep their progress and loot?
Loot is shared between players. In local play, player two saves their experience and continues with a full character, rather than acting as a temporary helper.
Can you fight each other instead of teaming up?
Yes. Alongside solo and cooperative play, you can venture out with or against friends in online or split-screen multiplayer, so co-op friends can turn a duel into a break from the main investigation.
What does the black hole change while you play?
Irid Novo orbits a black hole in real time, and its position triggers dynamic events. Depending on the moment, you can run into extra boss appearances, horde assaults, or enemies with changed stats and positions.
