City builder pick

Siege Survival: Gloria Victis

A medieval keep under siege, and you are not the army but the civilians keeping it alive. You build workshops, stretch food, craft arrows and bandages, then sneak through the occupied city at night for scraps. Grim, tight, and absorbing for city builder fans who like survival logistics.

Is Siege Survival: Gloria Victis worth it?

Siege Survival: Gloria Victis is worth it if…

  • you like small-scale building where every workshop and food store matters
  • you like strict day plans and risky night supply runs
  • you like hard trade-offs between civilians and soldiers

A cramped keep that works like a small town

Your building plot is a courtyard, not an open valley. You place tents, workshops, a fireplace, storage, rat traps and pig pens in the safe and exposed ground, then upgrade them so food lasts longer and crafting costs less. Days run on a tight clock as civilians chop, cook, mend and forge. You decide what gets built first: a roof, hot meals, better tools, or the arrows and armour the tired troops keep asking for before their next fight.

Nights spent sneaking through the fallen city

When dark falls, one scavenger slips out to search ransacked districts for wood, food, herbs and parts. Patrols watch the streets, so you wait, take side routes and search quietly to stay unseen. You unlock paths to new districts, help or exploit surviving citizens, and recruit new hands. You carry back what fits in the pack and need to return before dawn. It gives city builder fans the other half of the loop: the supply run that decides what can be built tomorrow.

Two mouths to feed with one storehouse

Soldiers need weapons, armour and care for the wounded every few days, while your own people face hunger, wounds, disease and low spirits. Flaming arrows and boulders also damage the camp, so repairs compete with crafting. Help arrives only weeks away, and shortages force hard calls about who eats and what the troops get. The same civilians, the same stores, no easy answer, which keeps each run tense and worth replaying with a different plan.

What else should you know?

How long does the siege last?

You hold out for weeks until reinforcements arrive, with soldier battles every few days setting the rhythm. That deadline shapes every choice, since food spoils, wounds linger and stores run thin over time.

Can you change the story?

Choices matter along the way, from how you treat survivors in the ruins to how you handle tension between camp and bastion. Different recruits, routes and decisions push each attempt in a new direction.

Is there anything beyond the main siege?

A built-in editor lets you make your own scenarios and stories from scratch, with modding and community content supported at launch. It is a dry toolkit rather than extra campaign, suited to tinkering once you know the systems.
